Bristol Rovers suspend Pipe

Bristol Rovers footballer David Pipe has been suspended over allegations he broke a 29-year-old man's skull with a bottle in a late-night brawl. Mr Pipe, 25, was originally arrested for assault after the incident in Bristol's Park Street on 16 September. "In the light of the serious incident concerning David Pipe we have taken the decision to suspend the player," said club chairman Nick Higgs.
