Bristol Rovers have confirmed that an unnamed man was arrested after a tunnel incident following Tuesday's 2-0 home defeat by Swansea City.

Swansea substitute Febian Brandy was sent off in a stormy game at the Memorial Stadium and afterwards Rovers defender Danny Coles was left with a facial injury.

"I saw the end of it and I saw Danny's lip which was very bloody and swollen," revealed Rovers boss Paul Trollope.

"There were a lot of witnesses from our side and stewards that saw it and the details will come out.

"It wasn't a nice incident and there's no place for that in football. The person in question needs to be dealt with."

Rovers safety officer Dave Harper added: "There was an incident in the tunnel involving players and staff from both sides and that incident is being investigated at the moment by the police.

"One man has been arrested and taken to a local police station, but until the incident has been fully investigated and we get copies of the police report I can't go into any more detail at this stage."
