Agogo: Pirates must respond

Tuesday Dec 20 2005 13:47

Bristol Rovers striker Junior Agogo has backed his side to hit back straight away from a surprise 1-0 home defeat by Torquay United.

Agogo told the Evening Post: "The boys were gutted to lose after having a good run, but with four games in just over a week coming up we've got time to rectify it.

"We feel we've been making progress over the last couple of months so the Torquay result felt like a kick in the teeth.

"Now it's a test of our ability to bounce back and we have to make sure the way we got mugged by Torquay doesn't happen again."

Meanwhile, Agogo is hopeful of being fit to face Shrewsbury Town on Boxing Day, despite suffering a hamstring injury is the loss to the Gulls.

He added: "I pulled my hamstring a little bit and came off straight away, but with our next match not coming until Monday there's time for me to rest it and get treatment."
