Bristol City boss Gary Johnson has allowed Nick Wright to end his loan spell with the Robins and return to Birmingham City following a family bereavement.
The 18-year-old winger moved to Ashton Gate last month and made five appearances for the League One side.
"Nick was very close to his grandfather, who died, and wants to be back home so he can help his mother through their loss," Johnson told the cub's official website.
"We understand the situation and I've spoken to Steve Bruce about it. We'd talked of extending the loan, but the situation has changed."
Meanwhile, Elliot Benyon has extended his loan spell at St Albans City for a further two months.
"It's been a good experience for Elliot and one we're happy to extend," added Johnson.
The 19-year-old striker has made five appearances for the Conference strugglers since moving to Clarence Park last month.
