Bristol City have handed back-up goalkeeper Chris Weale a contract that runs until the end of the season.

The 25-year-old had been on a month-to-month contract with the Robins following an injury-ravaged last 18 months, but has now put pen to paper on a longer term deal.

Weale, who featured just twice last season, has made four appearances for City during the current campaign.

"Chris has done really well for us in the games he's played," manager Gary Johnson told the club's official website.

"We kept him on a month-to-month deal to assess his fitness really and now he's signed until the end of the season which is an ideal arrangement."
