Sproule signs for Robins

Bristol City have completed the signing of Hibernian winger Ivan Sproule for an undisclosed fee.

The Northern Ireland international has agreed a three-year contract at Ashton Gate after bringing down the curtain on his two-and-a-half season spell with the Edinburgh club.

The 26-year-old has won eight international caps after making his debut in 2005.

"I just can't wait to get my boots on and show people what I am capable of," Sproule told the club's official website.

"If I can do that I'll be smiling and hopefully you'll see a whole stand smiling as well.

"But this is a big step up for me and I need to build myself a new reputation.

"It is a good league up in Scotland but it is an even stronger one, in my opinion, down here.

"There are some good players at this club already and I am going to have to work hard and fight for my place."
