Robins upset with FA fine
01 May 2009 - 15:03:43
The Football Association has fined Bristol City after the club were found guilty of dealing with an unlicensed agent.
The Robins have also been warned as to their future conduct after using Mark Wilson to secure the transfer of Enoch Showunmi from Luton Town almost three years ago.
A third of the £15,000 fine was suspended while Showunmi has been fined £2,000.
City chairman Steve Lansdown is unimpressed with the FA's stance, saying: "The FA are making themselves look fools in trying to regulate agents and inevitably it's the clubs who suffer.
"We talk to the wrong person, get fined and are made to look like criminals.
"That person can't be punished. The player involved gets fined a pittance and the agents, who we paid in accordance with the FA regulations, get away scot free."
