Bristol City boss Gary Johnson has targeted a new goalkeeper as he looks to build a squad capable of competing in the Championship next season.

Adriano Basso was a virtual ever-present for the Robins as they clinched promotion from League One last term, but Johnson is keen to provide some competition for the number one jersey.

"We have been looking for a Premiership goalkeeper who would not get into their first-team squad," he told the club's official website.

"And we think we have identified a lad who is 19 or 20 years old. I'll be talking to him over the next few days.

"If all goes to plan, we may get him signed up pretty quickly."
