Robins swoop for Henderson

Bristol City have swooped to sign Aston Villa's teenage goalkeeper Stephen Henderson on a one-year contract.

The 19-year-old has opted to leave Villa Park to try and secure first-team football at Ashton Gate.

Robins boss Gary Johnson told the club's official website: "I always like to work with three goalkeepers and we've brought Stephen in to challenge the two lads we already have on our books in Adriano Basso and Chris Weale.

"Stephen has fantastic potential, is only 19 and is a big lad. He will be very handy to have around next season.

"Who's first, second and third keeper? The sheet is clean for all of them when we start back in July and that sort of competition is good for us."
