Robins swoop for Elliott
30 Jul 2007 - 16:44:59
Bristol City have snapped up Millwall midfielder Marvin Elliott for an undisclosed fee on a three-year contract.
The 22-year-old has forged a reputation as a defensive midfielder for the Lions, having already racked up more than 150 appearances for the League One outfit.
Meanwhile, Robins boss Gary Johnson has explained his reasons for moving for Swansea City striker Lee Trundle, who is poised to complete a switch to Ashton Gate.
He told the Evening Post: "He loves playing football and he wants to prove himself in the Championship.
"I like that kind of ambition and that's why I've given him this chance. This move is the right one for him at the right time.
"He believes he should be in the Championship and I agree with him. He's always scored goals and he will score them in the Championship as well."
