Robins snare Campbell-Ryce
20 Jan 2010 - 09:01:02
Bristol City wrapped up the signing of Barnsley winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce shortly before their 1-0 FA Cup third round replay defeat at Cardiff City.
The 26-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half year contract at Ashton Gate, with boss Gary Johnson expecting good things from the wideman.
He told the club's official website: "He's got many strings to his bow. He can play anywhere across the midfield, is comfortable on both wings and can play up front in a three.
"He'll say his favourite position is left or right wing. He's got two good feet and scores spectacular goals on occasions.
"We were lucky enough to pick him up at the right time, having done a deal with Barnsley. We've brought him in to enhance our squad.
"He's an exciting player and he's the type of player we need here. I like his work-rate, there are a lot of wingers out there who don't work half as hard as him."
