Robins rise pleases Johnson
16 Feb 2009 - 07:33:39
Bristol City boss Gary Johnson was delighted to see his side's recent good form continue with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Southampton at Ashton Gate.
The Robins have won seven of their last eight league games and are now firmly back in the hunt for a play-off spot.
Johnson told his club's official website: "It doesn't matter who you play, bottom of the league or top of the league, they're all Championship teams.
"In fact most of the teams we have been playing recently have been Premier League.
"The players have put in a fantastic effort over the past few weeks to get us in a very strong position and set up a great end to the season.
"We can't stop the fans talking or thinking about the play-offs, because we have put ourselves up there. The next stage is to stay there.
"We do look very solid and we're winning football matches, which proves our club is doing the right things at the moment."
