Robins release Partridge

Bristol City have released Dave Partridge after agreeing to terminate the out-of-favour defender's contract.

The 28-year-old was signed by previous Robins boss Brian Tinnion in July 2005, but has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular under current manager Gary Johnson.

The former Motherwell defender was loaned out to Leyton Orient, Brentford and Swindon last term.

Partridge started just 11 league games for City in two years with the club.

"We hope this allows Dave to get his football career back on track and we give him and his family our best wishes for the future," Johnson told the club's official website.
