Robins list contract rebel Orr
28 Nov 2008 - 11:13:12
Bristol City have transfer-listed defender Bradley Orr after he turned down the offer of a new contract from the Ashton Gate club.
The 25-year-old has been with the Robins since the summer of 2004, making nearly 200 first-team appearances, but now seems set to leave in the January transfer window.
Manager Gary Johnson told the Evening Post: "Bradley was offered a contract in July and I thought it was a good offer. It was the offer all our defenders and midfielders got and they all signed.
"He decided it wasn't enough for him and I'm really disappointed by that. We gave him a couple of months to think about it and we've now reached the stage where we can't afford to wait any longer.
"With January coming up, we have to make him available rather than let him go for free at the end of the season.
"I can't possibly play someone who has categorically turned down a contract.
"You cannot question Bradley's commitment, but you can question how he is going to react in adversity. Once I lose a player in the head, I can't use him out on the pitch."
