Bristol City have released seven out-of-contract players following their promotion to the Championship. Senior players Craig Woodman, Andy Smith and Sean Thomas have been told they will not be offered fresh terms at Ashton Gate. Meanwhile, youngsters Dean Grubb, Shaun Lamb, Elliott Benyon and Danny Wring have failed to win professional deals after coming through the club's youth ranks. "I would like to thank all the players we are releasing for their efforts on behalf of the club and wish them well for the future," City boss Gary Johnson told the club's official website.
