Robins confirm McCombe op

Bristol City defender Jamie McCombe is expected to be back in action in well under a month after undergoing surgery on a pelvic injury.

The 26-year-old has not featured since the FA Cup third round replay defeat by Portsmouth earlier this month, having suffered with a facial injury earlier this season.

Physio Nick Dawes told the Evening Post: "Jamie went on for his surgery on Tuesday night and everything seemed to go fine.

"We spoke to the consultant yesterday morning and he said the operation was a success.

"Jamie's rehabilitation begins today, as the manager has already said and he should be back in action in about three weeks."
