Robins boss issues challenge

Bristol City manager Gary Johnson has challenged his side to go on a run between now and the new year as the Robins bid to secure promotion from League One. Johnson's side are currently fourth in the table and the manager has set his sights on an improvement between now and the beginning of the busy Christmas period. "You have to be up there come the new year so every match between now and then is massive," he told the club's official website. "Those clubs at the top around Christmas will have drawn that bit further ahead of the mid-table pack, and we need to be in our current position or better at the end of a very busy and important period in the season. "It's often said that where you are at Christmas can be a good indication of where you finish and I agree with that because by then you will have come through a hectic spell, with as many as four games in seven days."
