Orr still left out in the cold

Bristol City manager Gary Johnson is refusing to pick Bradley Orr despite the Robins' current injury problems in defence.

The right-back was transfer-listed last month after refusing to sign a new deal and has been left out of Johnson's first-team squad for the last five Championship games.

Johnson explained his stance to the Bristol Evening Post, saying: "What I said a few weeks ago still stands at this moment in time. Bradley's still a paid member of this squad and, if he was called upon, I'm sure he'd do his best for the club.

"We're short of defenders at the moment and we're not as consistent as I'd like us to be and I'm sure he'd love to play if given the chance. But I have to be aware of the situation.

"I need to use those players who want to be around and who are going to be around next year.

"That's why Bradley isn't involved. Because of the circumstances, I don't feel I can play him."
