Bristol City manager Gary Johnson has admitted there will be no dramatic early return for injured utility man Brian Wilson.

The former Cheltenham Town midfielder suffered a broken leg in October and was initially expected to miss just two months of the campaign, but he is in no position to return to the side in the near future.

Speaking to the Evening Post, Johnson said: "Brian is a long lost soul at the moment because of the heavy injury he has had and the big operations he has had.

"He needs time to get himself back to fitness and we are hoping it will be before the end of the season, but it was a big injury and we just have to keep our fingers crossed for him."
