Bristol City have agreed new contracts with Louis Carey and Jamie McCombe.
Robins skipper Carey was out of contract in the summer but has put pen to paper on a new two-year deal.
Meanwhile, fellow defender McCombe has also pledged his future to the club until summer 2009.
"Louis has been a stalwart this season. He's played a good number of games and now we've extended his deal," City boss Gary Johnson told the club's official website.
"Jamie came here on a lower wage and I told him when he signed 'if you can get yourself in the first team regularly we'll sort out your contract'."
