Millen bemoans spot of bad luck

Bristol City manager Keith Millen felt a controversial penalty award against his side proved crucial in their 4-2 defeat at Barnsley.Referee Nigel Miller pointed to the spot with 32 minutes on the clock after he adjudged Marvin Elliott to have handled.Andy Gray duly dispatched the penalty, cancelling out Elliott's sixth-minute opener, before Danny Haynes and Jacob Butterfield put the Tykes 3-1 ahead at the break. Millen felt the decision turned the tide against his side - and criticised the officials for their handling of the incident. He said: "It's hit Marvin on the side of the hip and that's what annoyed the players. The referee saw it as a penalty because he was facing it but the linesman didn't see it as a penalty."I can understand the referee making the decision but with the linesman, they are supposed to communicate when they are miked up. You would think between the two of them they would get the decision right."Paul McShane completed the scoring for the hosts after the restart before Nicky Maynard struck a late penalty to cut the arrears.
