McAllister scan boosts Robins
30 Oct 2008 - 13:02:16
Bristol City have been boosted by the news that defender Jamie McAllister's foot injury is not as serious as was first feared.
The Robins had feared that the Scotland left-back had suffered a broken metatarsal in his left foot in the goalless draw with Barnsley, but scans have shown merely bruising.
City boss Gary Johnson told the Evening Post: "It's good news for us and for Jamie. We were worried he might have broken a metatarsal, which would have meant a minimum of ten weeks out.
"Instead, it's just bruising and we expect him to be back in training within the next fortnight."
McAllister himself added: "It was nice to receive the results back and be told there's no fracture.
"I've got to wear a special boot for the next few days or so and then, when the bruising comes out and the swelling goes down, I can kick on from there."
