Maynard eyes Bristol City return

Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard is confident he will be back in action in the next few weeks.

The 23-year-old was the Robins' top scorer last season with 21 goals, but has not played since the final game of that term because of a knee injury.

"I've always said I'll be back before Christmas and the way things are going I'm way on schedule for that," Maynard told BBC Radio Bristol.

"Hopefully in a few weeks time I can get a reserve game under my belt."
