Johnson: We didn't deserve to lose

Bristol City boss Gary Johnson insisted his struggling side did not deserve Tuesday's 1-0 home defeat against Bradford City.

A 79th-minute Louis Carey own goal handed the points to Bradford and Johnson felt it was symptomatic of the rock-bottom Robins' recent lack of good fortune.

"To lose in this way to a late own goal was hard to take," he said. "We didn't deserve to lose and the lads are gutted.

"For the first 45 minutes I was very happy at the way in which the game was going. We were getting in lots of crosses and shots but in the second half we weren't as effective.

"We lost some of our boldness and bravery and were too cautious. We switched off mentally and allowed Bradford to dictate for 20 minutes or so and when you do that it is often fatal."
