Bristol City manager Gary Johnson has accepted the blame for his side's 2-0 Championship loss at Watford on Tuesday evening.

The Robins played an unfamiliar formation, with David Clarkson in behind loan signings Patrick Agyemang and Alvaro Saborio in an attacking line-up.

Despite their adventurous approach, Martin Taylor and Heidar Helguson notched first-half goals as the Hornets grabbed a comfortable win.

Speaking to the club's official website, Johnson said: "I hold my hands up.

"I thought we'd go for it with Clarky - on the back of his goal - in behind two big lads up front. It didn't work.

"We tried to go with the players we knew. They gave a better account of ourselves but by then we'd lost the game."
