Gary Johnson urged his Bristol City players to move on quickly from their 3-0 thumping at Queens Park Rangers.
The Robins have seen their promotion hopes hit by a run of one win in four games, but Johnson is still backing his squad to the hilt.
He said: "We started off poorly and got progressively worse. We were second best and that is why we got beaten so comprehensively.
"The boys tried hard, but our quality was poor and we got what we deserved.
"There were not a lot of positives from the day, but we must try to forget about it and move on.
"We have recovered from setbacks before and we will again. We mustn't dwell on it for too long, we have a big game against Southampton next week."
