Johnson lands March award

The League One Manager of the Month for March has been won by Bristol City's Gary Johnson.

The Robins won five, drew one and lost one last month, as they stepped up their bid to secure automatic promotion to the Championship.

Johnson told the club's official website: "As always with this award, a manager accepts it on behalf of his coaching staff and players.

"The players showed great character in March to bounce back from the Johnstone's Paint Trophy disappointment and put together a really important run of league results.

"Now we have to keep things going over April. It would be nice to retain the Manager of the Month award because if I do we will be promoted."
