Elliott ready for Robins return

Bristol City midfielder Marvin Elliott was thrilled to come through a reserve team game unscathed as he stepped up his comeback from a knee problem.

The 23-year-old former Millwall player featured for most of the second-string's 6-0 victory against Bournemouth's reserves and suffered no ill-effects.

He told the Robins' official website: "The knee's fine now and I'm just delighted to be back playing again.

"It was a good team performance with lots of goals, but crucially for me I got minutes on the pitch.

"I've been training for the last two weeks now, played in a practice match at the training ground last week and now the reserve team game.

"It's been hard sitting out the first month and I can't stand watching games when I'm out injured. My goal now is to challenge for the first team again."
