Bristol City chairman Steve Lansdown has warned that he will not plough major funds into the club to bring in more new players this summer.
The Robins have added to their squad by recruiting Aston Villa goalkeeper Stephen Henderson and wingers Ivan Sproule and Michael McIndoe from Hibernian and Wolves respectively.
Another couple of moves are planned, but Lansdown is sticking to a rigid spending plan.
He told the Evening Post: "Gary Johnson spends only what the club makes and I believe that is a sound business base from which to work.
"When I became chairman, I believed anything could be achieved here with hard work and dedication, and I still believe that.
"There will be more signings before the season starts.
"We drew up a list of five requirements earlier in the summer and three of those boxes have now been ticked. It is still our intention to tick the other two."
