City ponder Brooker recall

Bristol City boss Gary Johnson is pondering recalling striker Steve Brooker from his loan spell at League One Cheltenham Town.

The 26-year-old frontman has impressed on his four appearances for the Whaddon Road club to date and Johnson could bring Brooker back to Bristol after just a month.

He told the Western Daily Press: "He still has another game or two to go with Cheltenham and he will probably need that game or two.

"If we decide he needs to stay there for another month, then we have the option of pulling him back as a 24-hour recall.

"But we may decide he's ready and recall him at the end of this month.

"We'll continue to keep a very close eye on him and we'll bring him back when we think he's ready."
