Bristol City manager Gary Johnson hailed the contribution of Phil Jevons after the Robins reached the last four in the northern section of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on penalties.

Jevons hauled City back into their clash with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground with a superb second-half volley before the visitors held their nerve in the shoot-out.

''It was an outstanding goal and it showed just what he can do. I know what he is capable of producing, but Bristol City fans have not seen the best of him yet," said Johnson.

''He's taken a bit of stick from me because he's got lots of ability and I've been trying to drag it out of him since he came to Bristol."
