Campbell-Ryce sits out Toon test

The Robins parted company with manager Gary Johnson, who had been in charge at Ashton Gate since 2005, on Thursday with assistant Keith Millen due to take charge for the visit of the Magpies. Campbell-Ryce serves a one-game ban for being dismissed in the 3-2 defeat to Plymouth on Wednesday. In attack Stefan Maierhofer, who joined on loan from Wolves last week, is likely to make his home debut although Danny Haynes - who made a good impression coming off the bench against the Pilgrims in midweek - is also pushing hard for a start. Evander Sno, Jamie McCombe and Marvin Elliot are all still sidelined with long-term injuries. City have won just once in their last five league games and sit 15th in the Championship.
