Bristol City striker Stephen Brooker requires a second knee operation and is set for a fresh spell on the sidelines.
The 26-year-old has not played since April and has been told he requires surgery on Friday to 'clean up' the joint.
"It's bad news, but I see it as good news that Brooks has a date and the surgery can take place pretty quickly," manager Gary Johnson told the club's official website.
"The sooner he has the operation, the quicker he can get everything sorted."
Meanwhile, Enoch Showunmi is a major doubt for Saturday's trip to Coventry City with an ankle problem.
