Bristol City manager Gary Johnson has released five players following the club's 1-0 defeat to Hull City in the Championship play-off final.

Darren Byfield, Enoch Showunmi, Alex Russell, Tamas Vasko and Martin Slocombe have all been told their Ashton Gate careers have come to an end.

Johnson told the Robins' official website: "We thank the five players who are leaving the club for their professionalism and wish all of them the best for the future."

Meanwhile, Chris Weale, Scott Murray, Stephen Henderson, Richard Keogh and Jordan Walker have all been offered new deals.
