Brazilian goalkeeper Adriano Basso has set his sights on securing a new 12-month contract with Bristol City.
The South American's current Ashton Gate deal is due to expire at the end of the month, but he is keen to secure an extended stay after breaking in to the first team.
Basso kept his first clean sheet as Gary Johnson's side secured their first win in nine games against Huddersfield at the weekend, and is hoping his form will be enough to convince the boss to open negotiations.
He told the club's official website: "I would like some security and to sign for maybe a year. I am very happy with the way things are going because I was four months without a club before coming here.
"I have got into the first team sooner than I expected and I am really enjoying life here. I like the training and now we have ended the bad run of results I believe we can climb the table.
"I am renting a house at Long Ashton and would like to think I have a future at the club."
