Trollope: We're hurting

Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope admitted he was hurting after his side were dumped out of the FA Cup in a 2-1 defeat at Darlington. Both sides scored inside four first-half minutes with Darlington's Michael Brough bagging his first goal for the club after a quarter of an hour. The Pirates pegged their Blue Square Premier hosts back with Will Hoskins curling home a low free-kick, but 12 minutes into the second half Darlington took the lead again when Gary Smith tapped into an empty net. Trollope, who saw Hoskins go off injured after half an hour, said: "In a game like this when you've got a lot of territory and possession against a very organised and disciplined team you need people that can unlock doors for you and create chances. So we certainly missed Will when he went off. "We think he's done ankle ligament damage, it's too early too asses at the minute but it looks like it'll be a few weeks at the very minimum." He added: "I was angry, that has hurt us because it's a poor defeat and we've also been beaten by Oxford in the Carling Cup which was equally disappointing so there were some harsh words spoken after the game. We have to make sure we dust ourselves down because we've got another tough game at Wycombe on Tuesday."
