Manager Paul Trollope hopes a week of intensive fitness work will help Bristol Rovers repeat the flying start to the campaign they enjoyed last season. Trollope believes a tough pre-season programme paid dividends 12 months ago when Rovers recorded seven wins and a draw from their opening 10 games to storm into the top three in League One. "The intensity of the work increases this week and we will be training hard through until Friday with some double and triple sessions," Trollope told the club`s official website. "This is the main week in terms of fitness and hopefully we will come through a structured programme with no injuries and everybody's fitness levels improved. "It worked pretty well for us last year because we started the season in good physical shape, and hopefully that will be the case again." "Trollope added: "We have been very pleased with the work that has been done so far. The players have shown a good application, a fantastic enthusiasm and it has been a good start."
