Trollope: Save was what we deserved
Mikkel Andersen's superb injury-time penalty save was justice done, according to furious Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope.
Andersen dived full length to his left to keep out Gary Madine's spot-kick after referee Oli Langford had spotted a handball offence by Gary Sawyer.
Trollope left the field pointing angrily in the direction of the officials but regained his composure in time to avoid risking disciplinary action with his post-match comments.
"It was a farcical end to the game, but I don't want to comment on the penalty decision or the referee because if I start I'm not sure that I will be able to stop," he said.
"Gary Sawyer is one of the most honest professionals you could ever meet and he swears the ball never touched his hand. I think most people in the ground were expecting a free-kick to be given our way.
"But I would prefer to dwell on Mikkel's brilliant save and the fact that we failed to kill the game off by scoring a second goal. We had some great chances at 1-0 up and you always know in football that a one-goal lead is never enough."
