Paul Trollope has spoken of his disappointment after he was sacked as Bristol Rovers manager. Trollope - who earned promotion to League One with Rovers - was relieved of his duties after a poor run of results. Speaking in an LMA Statement, Trollope was saddened by his exit but enjoyed his time at the Memorial Stadium. "Naturally I am saddened to receive the news and disappointed that I will no longer have the opportunity to achieve my ambition of promotion to the Championship," he said. "Nevertheless, I enjoyed five fantastic years and I will always be extremely grateful to the club for giving me my first opportunity in management. "I am proud of my achievements during that period and pleased to have been part of a management team that moved Bristol Rovers forward."
