Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope was pleased with his sides 2-0 victory over Scottish side Partick Thistle at Firhill on Tuesday. Rovers have been north of the border on their pre-season tour and Trollope, who has been impressed with his team during their two games, believes their progress is good ahead of the new season. Speaking to the club's official website Trollope said: "It was another good test for us as we looked to move things up a notch, and I think you could see there was an improvement in our fitness levels over the ninety minutes. "There was a decent sharpness and freshness about us and I think that after an even first half, when we produced some good play but didn't provide a threat, in the second half we improved and started to move a little quicker. "We are still improving things, and trying to move in the right direction, and we feel this was a step towards that."
