Trollope hoping to keep Lambert

The League One outfit had expected enquiries about the 26-year-old after he hit 18 league goals before Christmas. But so far Rovers have heard nothing and Trollope hopes it will remain that way.

"As far as I am concerned Rickie is going nowhere. We have had no offers up to now and his commitment to our club was there for all to see," said Trollope.

Lambert ended a lean period with two goals, including a late winner, as the Pirates came from behind to beat rivals Cheltenham 3-2 at the Memorial Stadium.

"He has been unfortunate during a dry spell of six games but he kept his head up and his winning goal here was as good as any he has scored this season," said Trollope.

On the game itself, Trollope added: "We showed terrific spirit after twice being behind. It's not an ideal way of going about things, but it shows the character in the squad."
