Trollope calms Blizzard tackle storm

Blizzard escaped with a yellow card after a first minute challenge which left Grant Basey with a suspected broken leg, while goals from Steve Elliott and Paul Heffernan sealed Rovers' victory before Therry Racon's late consolation.

Trollope said: "Anyone who knows Dominic would say he's not that type of player. He went for the ball and their lad was just too quick for him.

"We don't like to see any opponent stretchered off and wish the lad well. But there was no malice in the tackle and I thought the ref got it right."

Trollope added: "Our last two home games had been disappointing and we'd been looking for a fresh start.

"To have a game live on Sky TV against one of the top clubs was just what we needed. I was just disappointed we conceded right at the end because the team had defended with such great spirit when Charlton threw caution to the wind in the second half."
