Trollope bemoans home reverse
Jimmy Smith struck the winner after JJ Melligan's opener was cancelled out by Rickie Lambert.
"We lacked the necessary intensity and didn't do enough to win the game," admitted Trollope.
"The game hinged on two moments, Joe Kuffour's miss and the winning goal when we didn't close down quickly enough on the edge of our box.
"It wasn't a disaster for us, but the feeling is the same as last season when we lost at home to Carlisle on opening day.
"We need to pick ourselves up quickly for Aldershot in the Carling cup on Tuesday night."
