Trollope backs Pirates to respond

The Pirates face United on Saturday - two weeks after their last outing when they were beaten 5-1 at Carrow Road. The postponement of their clash with Leeds last weekend has left Trollope's men with longer than usual to stew on that result but he feels they are capable of bouncing back against the Shrimpers. "We'd been on a good run and obviously we were disappointed with some of the defending at Norwich," he said. "The best thing usually is to have a Tuesday night game but we've had the taste of that defeat in our mouth for longer than normal and we haven't been able to put that right on the pitch, but the players have showed a great attitude in training. "Southend is a tough place to go but before Norwich our away form had been very good so we're looking to get back on the road."
