Rovers remain cautious over Coles

The defender missed the majority of last season with the problem and has not made a competitive appearance for the Pirates since October. Coles has been involved in the club's pre-season preparations but Trollope has vowed to use the 27-year-old sparingly when the League One campaign kick-offs. "He is a tough lad and he has been pushing himself to get back up to speed," Trollope told the Evening Post. "He is a big player for us and he showed that in the little spell of games he put together at the start of last season. "We want to get him back fit and ready to go for the start of the season and he is on target for that. But we have to be careful because in the first month there is a lot of midweek games and we will have to decide whether he can play in all of them or may need a rest in one or two. "We are just concentrating on getting him through the next week or so to get him ready to face Leyton Orient on the opening day."
