The Pirates have risen from 16th to 11th over the past two seasons and now the Welshman believes a similar improvement this season could put Paul Trollope's men in contention for the play-offs. "We just want to improve," he old the Bristol Evening Post. "We did it by 10 points last season and if we can do it again, we could be in the mix for the play-offs. "It's too early to be talking about that because first we need to get a decent return from the opening six fixtures. This league is as strong as it has ever been. I thought last season it was tougher than the one before, and this year that has happened again. "Three big clubs have come down while Wycombe, who are strong, have come up along with Exeter, who are a good side. "There are some big clubs in League One now, but we seem to have performed better against the bigger teams in the last couple of seasons so, hopefully, that is a good sign."
