Life after Lambert for Rovers

12 August 2009 15:13
Lambert moved to Southampton on Monday for a fee in excess of £1million and opened his Saints account in their 2-0 win over Northampton. Trollope handed Darryl Duffy a start in Lambert's place and saw him score twice to see off spirited Aldershot. Trollope said: "We have some talented young players here and the resources to replace Rickie. I was never under any illusion about taking the club the next step towards the Championship. It's the biggest challenge so far. "We knew there were clubs in League One with big spending power this season and Rickie's move to Southampton has proved it. It was a great move for him financially and we couldn't stand in his way. "But now we are looking to strengthen before the end of the transfer window and if we can get one or two of our targets I'm confident we can continue to progress."
