Lambert return boost for Pirates

The injury would have seen the 20-goal striker miss out against Huddersfield and Crewe had the weather not intervened and caused the matches to be postponed, but Lambert has now resumed light training and has an outside chance of being fit for Saturday's trip to Scunthorpe.

"Rickie's scan showed nothing serious, just a few bits of wear and tear which you would expect in a footballer's hip. But it's good news and it's only the soft tissue that is affected," First-team coach Paul Trollope told the club's official website.

"He has started jogging again so I would say that he is 50/50 for Saturday. We are hoping to have him back for then, but we don't want to rush him back and cause a longer term problem.

"If he isn't ready for that game then he should be available for the game against Yeovil next Tuesday."

Meanwhile, the postponed game against Crewe at Gresty Road has been rearranged for March 17 and will kick-off at 7.45pm.
