Ifil deals Penney a blow
Bristol Rovers boss Dave Penney will be without defender Jerel Ifil for the trip to Tranmere.
The centre-back, who recently arrived at the club on a non-contract basis, was dismissed in Saturday's 2-0 defeat to fellow-strugglers Dagenham for a professional foul and will now serve a one-match ban.
Cian Bolger or James Tunnicliffe could replace the 28-year-old in the starting line-up.
Fellow defender Danny Coles is almost certain to miss out after being stretchered off during the second half of the weekend's defeat with an ankle injury, although the severity of the problem is still unknown.
Captain Stuart Campbell made his return from a hamstring problem against the Daggers and is expected to continue in midfield, while left-back Gary Sawyer could continue following his return from a thigh problem.
