The former England Under-21 stopper has been on a short-term deal at the Memorial Ground and played in Saturday's defeat at Wycombe after Fraser Forster joined Norwich. Evans was due to leave the club before the Hereford game but first-team coach Paul Trollope has now arranged for him to stay for the clash and possibly beyond. "Rhys is in the squad," Trollope told his club's official website. "Negotiations are ongoing with regards to keeping him here for longer." Trollope is poised to make a number of changes to the side that lost 2-1 at Adams Park, with Steve Elliott and Dominic Blizzard likely to come in. The duo, who had been struggling with a thigh injury and illness respectively, made their first starts of the season in the Carling Cup clash at Cardiff last week and will again play a part. Andy Williams is set to miss out with a virus while it is likely defender Danny Coles will be rested.
